FOURTH RIGHT: What it's like to be a woman journalist

As the world gears up to celebrate International Women's Day on Sunday, three senior journalists have described what it is to be a woman journalist in India in a video put out by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) yesterday. Basically, three words sum it up: Violence, harassment and slut shaming.
While journalists of all genders are targeted regularly in social media, senior journalist Neha Dixit points out that when a woman journalist is involved it "immediately becomes a physical or a sexual threat". She goes on to add that when a male journalist writes a critical story, he is branded as "paid or corrupt" but when a woman is involved, she is called a "slut or prostitute".
