Legendary election analyst Green to step aside after federal election

By Tony Bosworth in Media News on
What would a federal election be like without the ABC's chief pundit and number crunch Anthony Green calling the numbers? Well we'll soon find out because this year's Federal election will be the last time Green will be on our screens in an on-air role as he moves to a less strenuous position behind the scenes.  Green has been in the role for more than 30 years and now in his 60s he believes the time is right. "By the time of the next election, I'll be 68 and I know I'm not as sharp and quick as I was five years ago," Green said today - Wednesday. "It gets harder and harder. It's like a footballer, sometimes they play on a season too long, and I'm making sure I don't do that." He will remain with the ABC in a behind-the-scenes role and continue to work on election-related projects. Green has become a household name in Australia, ensuring the ABC's election night broadcasts attract millions of viewers. He has an ability to explain numbers in a way that anyone can understa

By Will McLennan in Media News on
As a 10-year-old, WhistleOut Singapore’s now Managing Editor Georgia Dixon was so keen on tech she would excitedly read about events like the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and dream one day she’d be able to visit.  Of course the dream has now become reality and as Dixon told Influencing, attending CES - she’s been twice so far - was “full circle and very surreal”. “The first time attending was just insane. It's a whole other kettle of fish to be thrown into it. There's nothing you can do that will prepare you for the event because its sheer scale is insane.  “Since I’ve been at the WhistleOut group, I think going to CES is the coolest thing I've ever been able to do. It was a real pinch-me moment.” Interest in tech has been with Dixon for as long as she can remember and even from a young age she saw reporting on tech as her dream.   “From a young age, I was obsessed with technology, gadgets, and everything else on the dial-up internet, reading ab
