Western Australia's Business News is booming, with expanded reader reach and more full time journalists employed. Managing Editor Sean Cowan says a big reason for the success is the publication's independence from major media conglomerates.
"BN's independence sets it apart in Western Australia's media landscape, offering readers an alternative to the dominant Seven West media empire," Cowan told Influencing.
He says BN operates under an owner solely focused on publishing, rather than using the platform to advance other business interests.
"The owner absolutely wants Business News to have more subscribers, to publish more, to have more reporters, and to fight the good fight on behalf of the businesses of Western Australia," he explains.
