Australian podcast duo Toni and Ryan have been nominated for Best Comedy Podcast Episode at the 29th Annual Webby Awards, which The New York Times calls "the internet's highest honour", Radio Info reported. The nomination follows their win at the Australian Podcast Awards last year, where they took home the Listener’s Choice Award. Their fanbase, known as the TARPers, continues to play a key role in their rise.  Ryan acknowledged the community’s support, saying, “The only reason we’re up for a Webby is because our community is the best on the internet.” Hosted by Ilana Glazer, this year’s Webby Awards ceremony will take place in New York City on May 12. Fans can vote for Toni and Ryan in the Webby People’s Voice Awards alongside other major nominees, including podcasts by Oprah Winfrey, Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien, and Dax Shepard.

This year’s Samsung Australian IT Journalism Awards revealed two winners in the Best Video Program category: SBS Documentaries and SBS Dateline.  Speaking on the tie, SBS Documentaries’ Marc Fennell told Influencing he was, “thrilled that the award could be split with our SBS friends at Dateline who do incredible work”.
