Prasar Bharati to begin large-scale trials of direct-to-mobile model

The testing phase will begin with an initial rollout across 19 cities and is expected to run for three to five years.
Speaking on the sidelines of FICCI Frames 2025, CEO Gaurav Dwivedi told Storyboard18 that the model aims to align with changing consumption habits and enhance digital news delivery through Prasar Bharati’s mobile app.
“We are seeing a marked shift in the consumption pattern of audiences, especially in the younger age group. The D2M platform is a way of bridging the gap between broadcast and broadband,” he said.

SBS News hosts “Party Time” political podcast to guide young voters

SBS has announced a new political podcast, Party Time, hosted by journalists Elfy Scott and Rania Yallop.
In the 30-minute weekly podcast, Yallop and Scott will break down the core policies and key debates, uncovering what to expect from politicians, lobbyists, and parties. They will contextualise issues and provide answers to various questions to help young voters make an informed decision about the upcoming Federal Election on May 03, 2025.
“It’s important that young voters have access to political content that’s made for them,” Yallop said. “Our aim is to make those political debates a little less dry and more digestible for the average 18-30-year-old who may be voting for the first time or have been a bit lost and disconnected with the news cycle.”
